Like fine art, family portraits should endure : a precious moment captured on film today can become an heirloom tomorrow. I do not produce high fashion shots that quickly date, I take images that reflect the individuality of those I photograph; my aim is to produce a portrait that is contemporary, yet timeless.

Unlike most photographers today, I continue to shoot in black and white film, so that I can hand print the photographs myself, and customize to your requirements. This personal approach enables me to produce a finer quality print, and something that is unique to you. I believe that the tradition of hand printing film is an art form that should not be allowed to disappear; and the wet lab print has been proved to withstand the test of time.

My studio in Bath is located at the Bath Artists Studios, Comfortable Place, on the Upper Bristol Road; however I can bring my portable studio to photograph you and your family in the relaxed atmosphere of your home. Alternatively, a colour photo session could take place in a local park, or in your garden : indoors or out, you choose the setting.
